QUALIFICATIONS:                       

• Minimum of 60 College Hours or successfully passed Paraprofessional’s Assessment Exam
• Prefer valid Arkansas teacher certificate or College Degree

REPORTS TO:    District Instructional Strategist and Building Administrator

JOB GOALS:      To screen, plan and implement quality multi-sensory dyslexia interventions for students in need of support in small-group settings.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide specialized instruction under the supervision of a licensed dyslexia therapist/interventionist for students identified with characteristics of dyslexia as set by Arkansas state requirements.
2. Provide support services for students experiencing reading difficulties in small-group settings.
3. Collaborate with district and school staff in coordinating services for students enrolled in the dyslexia intervention program in multi-locations.
4. Compile, submit and maintain periodic reports to district and school staff for accountability purposes.
5. Communicate intervention progress to RTI Teams.
6. Maintain accurate pupil accounting records in compliance with local and state requirements.
7. Attend and complete professional development required for dyslexia interventionist per district requirements.
8. Implement the PCSSD desegregation plan.
9. Know Board of Education policies, District and school guidelines and regulations and adhere to the same.
10. Other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary Range:                 Range 8 - Support Staff Hourly Salary Schedule ($13.40/hr. – $24.82/hr. depending on relevant experience)

Length of Contract:        182 contract days, 8 hrs. per day

FLSA Status:                   Non-exempt

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
