QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Sciences from a recognized University
- Some clinical experience with school age and/or preschool age children
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: Conduct a variety of tasks under the direct and indirect supervision of the licensed and certified speech-language pathologist(s).
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide drill and practice in accordance with a plan designed by the supervising speech-language pathologist(s).
- Record correct/incorrect productions.
- Complete informal progress notes for sessions.
- Review progress notes with supervising speech-language pathologist(s).
- Transfer progress notes onto Medicaid documentation forms.
- Assist with conference paperwork and filing.
- Maintain therapy room and supplies.
- Prepare therapy materials as directed by the supervising speech-language pathologist(s).
- Assist the supervising speech-language pathologist(s) with large groups such as integrated therapy and inclusion classes.
- Update computer information on students receiving speech-language therapy.
- Escort students to and from speech-language therapy sessions.
- Make phone calls to schedule screenings and conferences.
- Convert raw test scores [provided by the supervising speech-language pathologist(s)] to standard scores and percentiles.
- Transfer information provided by the supervising speech-language pathologist(s) onto a rough draft of the evaluation report.
- Update computer information on students receiving speech-language therapy.
- Participate in necessary trainings when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary Range: Range 1 - Support Staff Daily Salary Schedule ($182.62/day - $298.74/day depending on relevant experience)
Length of Contract: 187 contract days
FLSA Status: Exempt

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
